My class has enjoyed working with the Ozobots SO MUCH that we created a bulletin board together! The entire class went into the hallway and designed their own circuit with codes and everything. Thank you so much for making these kits available for our children to use! It's so interesting to see their little minds work on coding! The excitement in my classroom has definitely increased because of this great center!
Way to go First Graders! You are Coders & Makers!
Carolyn Fitzmaurice is an innovative first grade teacher at Portage Central Elementary School. She has spent many hours devoted to her own professional growth around the Maker Movement including day long Tinkerzoo workshops here at KRESA/REMC12W. Carolyn is participating in our checkout system for Tinkerzoo Kits and the latest ~ Ozobots. They are now invading the halls of Central Elementary! In Carolyn's own words;
Our TinkerZoo resources are growing...Classroom sets of Bloxels and Snap Circuits are now available for REMC 12W teachers to check out. Visit Snap Media linked on our REMC12W site, search keyword Tinkerzoo, locate items, reserve, and have delivered to your district. Then, let the creative learning flow.
If you are interested in other Maker/Tinker supplies but you don't have the funds to purchase and the items are not in Snap Media, let us know and we will look into the possibility of purchasing the item(s) through REMC12W. Send information to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Today, we need to provide students with a creative, collaborative, 21st-century educational landscape. We at REMC 12W want to embrace those ideals. Our focus over the last year has been on innovative products, services and trainings that can be offered to all of our partners. This thinking has lead us to some changes that affect the Teacher Materials Center (TMC).
Beginning July 1, the TMC will be renamed the REMC Innovation Center. This revamped center will offer a unique space for team thinking, planning, learning, and making. This space will be open to you to drop by and create, schedule a learning event, or reserve for a meeting retreat.
REMC Innovation Center will continue to offer the same services focused on teacher classroom supplies such as die cut materials, lamination, video and technology tools through SnapMedia, and discounted prices on Discovery Education. Die cuts and laminating will be available all summer during the renovation process.
If you have any questions about the REMC Innovation Center, please email Tina Tribu or call 269-250-9260.
